Zwischen unbeschwertem Hochgefühl und bittersüßer Melancholie, zwischen Pop-Rock, Indie und
Alternative, stets schattiert mit elektronischen Elementen – genau dort fühlen sich Colour Gray am
wohlsten und setzen zum musikalischen Pinselschwung an. Dabei entsteht ein ganz und gar nicht
monochromes Klangbild, das in seiner Raffinesse an die Emotionalität von The Cure und die
Verträumtheit von Oasis erinnert. Eine dennoch tanzbare Linienführung scheint Inspiration von
den Riffs der Smashing Pumpkins oder Blink-182 zu beziehen und komplettiert ein Aquarell,
welches in seinem Stil trotzdem unverkennbar Colour Gray bleibt. Jan-Phillip (Gitarre und
Gesang), Kevin (Bass), Jan (Lead-Gitarre) und Bennet (Drums) haben im März 2024
ihre EP „Hometown“ mit einem Release-Konzert in der Kieler Schaubude veröffentlicht und tourten mit dieser im Sommer durch ganz Norddeutschland. 2025 sind die Songs „Masquerade“ und „Lie Awake“ erschienen. Ein Album mit 7 Songs kommt voraussichtlich zum Jahreswechsel 2025/2026. Die Songs sind in englischer Sprache gesungen und handeln von Nostalgie, Fern- und Heimweh sowie die Angst vor dem Älterwerden. Im Juni 2025 gewannen die vier Kieler in ihrem Bundesland den Musik-Wettbewerb „Local Heroes“.

Between jaunty euphoria and bittersweet melancholy, oscillating between pop-rock, indie and
alternative, a subtle shading of electronic pads and synths – that's where Colour Gray feels most at
home, embarking you for an acoustic journey along the stroke of a painters brush: It evokes a
decidedly non-monochromatic sonic landscape which, in its sophistication, reminisces the
emotional depth and dreaminess of bands like Oasis or The Cure. And yet, the danceable outlining
silhouettes on this canvas seem to draw inspiration from riffs by The Smashing Pumpkins and Blink
182, completing an intriguing watercolour that unmistakably remains in the style of Colour Gray.
Colour Gray, based in Kiel, Northern Germany consist of: Jan-Phillip (guitar and vocals), Kevin
(Bass), Jan (lead guitar) and Bennet drums). The quartet unveiled their new EP „Hometown“
in march 2024 with a release concert in the venue Kieler Schaubude und are touring with those songs through northern Germany. They won the musician competition “local heroes” in their state in June 2025.
